Variations of Electroencephalogram of Rabbit Elicited by Positive Radial Acceleration

Abstract
Exposing five rabbits to. positive radial acceleration of five gs, consecutive observation of the electroencephalogram on fronto-occipital leads were performed for five minutes. The following results were obtained.
1. The E. E. G pattern of normal rabbit was composed of the main wave of 3-8 cycles per second and, 100-500 microvolts amplitude, and the fast wave of about fifteen cycles per second with lower amplitude.
2. After exposure of one to three minutes,
the main wave decreased in its frequency and increased in its amplitude. The fast wave decreased both in frequency and amplitude.
3. Exposure for five minutes ensued in the lowered amplitude of wave as a whole and the disappearance of fast waves.
4. Heart rate decreased as time elapsed. At the end of five minutes, exposure, heart rate diminished approximately to one fourth of original value.
